The Norman Rockwell Museum has been a Studio Two client for a variety of projects, including web design and consulting, print design, and strategic consulting. For this project, we were approached to develop a fun pirate-themed invitation based on the artwork of Howard Pyle.

The museum’s core constituency trends conservative and traditional. We had to find a way to have creative fun with the theme while honoring the artwork and the audience.

The design builds on some familiar tropes of pirates, language and iconography while presenting Pyle’s work in an appropriate and unadulterated form. The invitation was a hit and the event highly succesful.
