Lisa Kors Writer/Director/Producer
DINNER AND A MOVIE marks the feature debut of award-winning filmmaker Lisa Kors.
Ms. Kors began her formal training at Brown University, where she studied filmmaking with Todd Haynes (VELVET GOLDMINE, SAFE, POISON, etc.) She went on to receive an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California, where she was awarded the film school's top screenwriting honor.
Her first short, a documentary entitled SHAYNA MAIDELS: ORTHODOX JEWISH TEENAGE GIRLS, premiered at Telluride and went on to play in over 50 international film festivals, from Seattle to Miami and from London to Estonia. SHAYNA MAIDELS won numerous awards, including a Golden Plaque from the Chicago International Film Festival, and Best of Festival awards from the Atlanta and New England Film Festivals.
As a screenwriter, Ms. Kors won First Place in the Long Island Film Festival with her script, GODMOTHERS, a comedy about what would happen if women ran the mob. She has also been a Finalist in the Empire Screenplay Contest and the New Century Writing Awards. The script for DINNER AND A MOVIE has been a Finalist in the Nicholls Film Competition and at the Hudson Valley Film Festival. For the past three years, Ms. Kors has taught screenwriting.
Ms. Kors continues to produce and direct on location behind-the-scene specials for Paramount, Universal and Disney feature films, where she has interviewed numerous actors and directors. Among them are Adam Sandler, John Malkovich Brian De Palma, Michael J. Fox, Melanie Griffth, Lorne Michaels, Ivan Reitman, and Mark Wahlberg. |
